5Not even industrial strength duct tape sticks!
By Lincoln J. Mennuti
Touting the 'Non-Stick' for these scissors, I decided to put it to the test right out of the package. I've got a roll of 'pavement' grade duct tape (it's sticky/gummy enough to hold on to pavement, that's darned strong!), that I usually only use a set of cutters or cheapy knife (that I don't care about) to cut strips with...As the residue left behind pretty much necessitates having to use anti-gumming chemicals to get off, which I never bother with and would rather just toss the cheapy knife/cutters.

So I set these Westcotts to task. First snip and the strip of duct tape is perfectly cut! No harsh tears or ripping due to unwanted grab! As a matter of fact it's SO non-stick I tried put some of that duct tape directly onto the scissor blades. Not only did the duct tape come right off, it never even got a grip on the blades at all. I might as well have been trying to stick plain paper to the blades, everything just slides right off.

As another reviewer stated, these blades are Titanium 'Bonded' which means they're NOT solid Titanium, but they should be fine for years of normal wear-n-tear use and cheap enough that by the time they break down it won't be a budget buster to replace.

Well recommended.

5Sharp, Strong and Super
By John N. Schear
Even the package said these scissors are sharp and by gosh they really are. Strong too. My convincing took place when I cut without any difficulty 32 pieces of 25 pound paper. Still unconvinced I tried 64 pieces and it began to show resistance but how many times do I cut more than one piece at a time? Not many. When I cut and hold I can make the entire cut without moving the blades. That sure saves time and makes the cut so much easier.

I am naturally left handed but chose to use scissors with my right hand. With these I can use both hands since the handle holes are for either hand. That condition did not matter until I broke my right hand ring finger and now I am gradually becoming a lefty scissor user. That's a nice touch by Westcott. What else is nice is the weight and size. Each is just right for almost any job. I could not bend either blade nor scratch the surface without mechanical assistance. I chose not to use mechanical assistance because I do not want to ruin absolutely super scissors.

No question about it: these are keepers and will be replaced in a few years with the same.

5Good sturdy scissors
By maximum verbosity
These scissors are very well made without being too heavy, feel sturdy, cut well and the grip is comfortable in my hand. My husband has much thicker fingers than I do and says they feel comfortable in his hands too. There's not a lot you can say about scissors but so far I've used these to cut fabric and some cardboard and they did great on both.
